An early flight with two small kids and more bags than hands. Landed mid-afternoon, went straight to Roger and Devorah's new place to see it, then to the Airbnb in Milwaukie.

Morning at the grandparents' house, where Scottie and Mari met their cousin Azi for the first time. He is four months old. In the afternoon we walked down to the Milwaukie food carts and watched the World Cup final outside.

Devorah came with us to the Oregon Zoo. Late afternoon we found Mike's Drive-In, where the ice cream cones are ninety-nine cents and a freight train goes by close enough to feel.

Mari fell out of bed and hit her head, so Allie and Devorah took her to the ER. Marc and Scottie packed up the Airbnb and spent the last hours in Roger's backyard finding blackberries. We met at the airport and flew home.
